Introduction to The Silk Screen Printing Process for Customized Plastic Boxes

Silk screen printing is one of the most commonly used, classic and excellent surface decoration processes in plastic box customization. It occupies an important position in the field of packaging printing with its wide adaptability, strong expressiveness and relatively controllable cost.

In the process of plastic box processing and customization, silk screen printing is a very important link. The printing principle of silk screen printing is that the ink directly penetrates into the surface of the film through the dots, so it can produce thick ink and bright colors. In the printing process of plastic boxes, customized silk screen printing of plastic boxes is widely used.

Special plastic silk screen printing inks (such as PVC inks, PP inks, UV inks, etc.) have special formulas and can adhere well to the surfaces of common plastic materials such as PE, PP, PET, PVC, PS, etc., and are not easy to fall off.

The difference between silk screen printing and UV printing is that the silk screen printing of transparent packaging boxes can only print one color each time, and multiple colors require multiple films and screens. The entire printing effect is completed through multiple printings. Compared with UV printing, the production process is relatively time-consuming and not suitable for large-scale and colorful plastic box printing. In the case of more colors, the accuracy of the screen printing position directly affects the appearance of the plastic box. Therefore, the accurate positioning of each color screen and whether the film can be placed in place later are directly related to the quality of printing.

Although there are certain limitations in the performance of high-precision images and gradient colors, for most of the customized needs of plastic boxes (brand display, information transmission, basic beautification), screen printing is still a mature process with high cost performance, reliable effect and wide application.

Compared with offset printing, which requires high plate making fees, the screen printing cost is relatively low, especially suitable for small and medium-sized batches of plastic box customization orders, with flexible minimum order quantity.
