There are many types of transparent plastics used for packaging. The choice depends on specific packaging requirements, such as transparency, strength, toughness, heat resistance, barrier properties (to oxygen and water vapor), cost, and whether the product will come into contact with food.
Custom transparent box plastic packaging features low density, light weight, and ease of processing. Available in both transparent and opaque finishes, they are widely used in the packaging industry.
Transparent plastic boxes are made of materials such as PVC, PET, PP, and PS, and include transparent folding boxes, cylinders, lid boxes, tote bags, hang tags, and other plastic products. These can be printed with UV offset printing, silk-screen printing, hot stamping with gold or silver foil, and frosted finishes. Plastic boxes enhance user experience, provide long-lasting durability, are moisture-proof and waterproof, offer high toughness, enhance transportation safety, and enhance product quality.
Transparent plastics used for packaging primarily include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Specific applications are as follows:
Polypropylene (PP)
Transparent plastic boxes made of PP are heat-resistant (withstands temperatures from -20°C to 120°C) and have strong impact resistance. They are often used for packaging that directly displays the product contents, such as transparent folding boxes and cylinders. Its surface is highly glossy and produces no noticeable dripping when burned.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
PET is highly transparent and lightweight, making it suitable for beverage bottles and other packaging. It is commonly found in transparent packaging for mineral water, juice, and other beverages. PET is shatterproof and easy to process, with a melting point of approximately 167°C, making it suitable for high-temperature environments.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
PVC transparent plastic boxes are flexible and resistant to acid and alkali corrosion, making them popular for packaging bags, tote bags, and more. Its surface can make a scratching sound when rubbed and produces a pungent odor when burned.
When choosing a material, consider the following: PP is more suitable for high-temperature applications, PET is suitable for beverage packaging, and PVC is more suitable for applications requiring flexibility.
